Project Description

Students investigated the presence of microplastics on a local beach to understand human impact on marine ecosystems.

What students did

They collected sand samples from different coastal zones, filtered materials in the school lab, and categorized particles using microscopes. Students also mapped pollution density and compared their findings with scientific reports.

Reflection / Learning outcome

Students developed scientific observation skills and gained a deeper understanding of invisible forms of pollution. The project fostered environmental responsibility and connected classroom biology to real-world ecological issues.
