Trends, Tech & the Digital Future: Shaping tomorrow’s critical thinkers in Markdorf

Our students aren’t just consumers of modern technology. They are becoming the critical analysts and builders of tomorrow. During our latest module in Markdorf, the focus shifted toward Digital Wellbeing!

What do you think? An Interview: Technological capability means little without digital responsibility. Students dove headfirst into key digital literacy topics: breaking down cyberbullying, exploring the psychology behind FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), identifying online scams, and using professional hardware like wireless lavalier mics to produce responsible digital content. All of those aspects came together in their own segment including interviews of different users, asking burning questions about media usage and Digital Wellbeing.

Student Innovation in Action: Taking their insights a step further, the students pitched original digital solutions! One standout concept was “Motivio”—a proposed app centered on the theme “Learn, Move, and Earn.” It reimagines mobile tech not as a distraction, but as a tool to gamify physical activity, continuous learning, and positive personal growth.

Oh those trends…: Who remembers the absolute frenzy around the 2017 fidget spinner hype? The students mapped out a comprehensive culture timeline, tracing trends from the early 2000s to present day. By analyzing how viral phenomena spike and fade, they gained valuable insights into consumer psychology, resource waste, and the true cost of short-lived trends.

We couldn’t be prouder of the depth, creativity, and inventive spirit shown by the Markdorf participants. The future of tech is in great hands!
