From abstract concepts to tangible solutions: Ideas coming to life in Markdorf

When you give students the tools, space, and freedom to explore complex global challenges, the results are nothing short of inspiring.

During our hands-on sessions at the school in Markdorf, our young innovators didn’t just discuss big topics, they brought them to life through interactive, tactile art and development.

We were deeply impressed by how thoughtfully the students tackled heavy topics surrounding sustainable production, ethical consumption, and complex global supply chains. Here is a closer look at what they created:

1: Pop-up Collage Book on “Wasting Clothes”: A striking, multi-layered visual exploration of fast fashion, waste management, and the environmental cost of modern textiles.

2: Cotton Harvesting Analysis: A critical look at raw material extraction, focusing on real-world working conditions and agricultural sustainability.

3: Supply Chain Cards: A structured, hands-on breakdown designed to show consumers exactly where their clothing originates and the journey it takes before reaching the store.

Look closely at that first photo: that wonderful, creative mess on the craft table. That is what active learning really looks like: paper scraps, scissors, glued fingers, and deep focus. Because true STEAM learning doesn’t happen silently sitting at a desk; it happens when students build with both their hands and their minds!
